As a key team member of the plant, the Shipping Supervisor manages all aspects of the shipping department including personnel, processes, and procedures to meet daily shipping objectives.
Responsibilities
- Manage shipping team to meet shipping goals and promote a team atmosphere within the department
- Coordinate outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality of shipments
- Determine priorities, staff assignments, and shipping methods required to meet schedule
- Train, develop, and monitor the performance of the staff of 4-6
- Complete shipments packaged by the department thru various shipping methods
- Coordinate shipments with customers to multiple locations
- Ship outgoing supplies to vendors for additional work
- Follow daily shipping schedule to ensure all shipments are expedited
- Ensure shipping area is organized and clean at all times
- Assist with monthly and yearly inventories in the plant
- Receive all incoming packages and deliver them to appropriate locations
- Ensure shipping area is organized and clean at all times
- Maintain proper inventory levels and usage of packing materials
- Optimize use of shipping personnel to maximize productivity
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail.
- Fast learner
- Spanish / English Bi-Lingual is a REQUIREMENT
- Must be flexible to work extended hours and some weekends as necessary
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years related experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable
- Bilingual in Spanish is a REQUIREMENT
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly motivated individual that is self-directed
- Computer proficiency required
- “Can do" attitude with multi-tasking capabilities
