Marketing Coordinator – Events & Media

The Marketing Coordinator is an entry level position in our Media & Events department.  All entry level staff members start out working in the events team as they learn our process and procedures and then begin training on basic media buying skills and eventually expand in media planning as well.

Under direct supervision, responsibilities include:

  • Assist clients with planning and scheduling local events and media
  • Work directly with vendors to reserve space, determine budgets, and handle reservations
  • Coordinate and monitor timelines and ensure deadlines are met
  • Research to maintain a proprietary database of local events
  • Research to maintain knowledge of local media in client markets
  • Assisting with creation and distribution of contracts
  • Processing client payments
  • Cost negotiation
  • Creating and distributing insertion orders to media vendors and track insertion order sign backs
  • Calling to take payment on media orders in process
  • Traffic and assign requests
  • Processing and reconciling invoices and assisting with invoice discrepancies
  • Staying current on media trends and local marketing events

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Superior communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Attention to detail and great organizational skills
  • Ability to shift priorities and handle multiple tasks
  • Passion to learn and stay on top of new media trends
  • Well versed in use of Microsoft office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Desired Experience

Minimum of 1 year event or media experience in an advertising agency, event agency or corporate media buying department.
